1. Yut Kee Restaurant
Yut Kee Restaurant is the oldest Kopitiam names in KL and is also one of the famous breakfast spots to go for both locals and tourists in KL. Yut Kee Restaurant has been serving up traditional Hainanese fare since 1928. They are serving a simple, authentic meal and there’s no pre-made food or drinks, everything is made upon order. You must try their famous kaya butter toast, self-made kaya lathered between toasty bread with a side of butter, very nice. Besides, you should also try their chicken chop, pork chop and butter cake as well if you’re having the brunch.

2. RESTAURANT FUL LAI
Dim Sum is very popular Chinese breakfast dishes, it served in the bamboo baskets. Restaurant Ful Lai is quite popular, and is patronised by a set of loyal local regulars. You should enjoy the popular dim sum dishes such as har gaw (rice paper dumplings filled with shrimp), siew mai(pork-stuffed) or chee cheong fun(rice noodle roll filled with shrimp, beef, or other ingredients).

Whoever said sweet things are only meant for desserts? Offer any Malaysian some Nyonya Kuih and they would kiss you with smiles! Instigated by the Peranakan Folks, basically, Chinese people who embraced local cultures (Malay) into their lifestyle which includes language, fashion, and architecture, Nyonya Kuih is a proud invention that we choose to surrender our sweet tooth upon.

Right outside Nam Chun restaurant in Lucky Garden, you will find Ah Mun peddling kuih on his motorcycle at 3 pm every day. Lee Yeok Choi, a vendor for over 40 years has been capturing the hearts of the neighborhood with his beautifully-made kuih. If you happen to be in the area, don’t forget to stop by and pay him a visit.
He’s usually there for about 2-3 hours before he sells out.
6. THONG KEE HAINAN COFFEE SHOP
Rich coffee, crispy croissants and a hearty breakfast set that will not break your bank account. Originated in Bentong, Pahang, it is well known for their soft and buttery croissants as well. Similar to Cham but there is a twist, it has a higher ratio of tea than coffee which makes it sweeter than usual but still getting your daily dose of caffeine! If you’re not in the mood for classic pastries and coffee combo, you can check out other local food stores located in this kopitiam.

7. CHONG KO HAKKA NOODLE
Quality usually deteriorates after being passed down from generation to generation but Chong Ko Hakka Mee avoided this demise. Consistency is key when it comes to flavors and they never disappoint since 1955. Self – made noodle is their unique selling point and they are super springy and chewy that makes you want more.
